Back to School Bash with Love Your Neighbor NOLA
It's back-to-school season, and Bonfolk Giving Good partnered with a local nonprofit, Love Your Neighbor NOLA, for an impactful day of giving back to kids in the New Orleans area.
Earlier this year, Nadia and her husband from Love Your Neighbor NOLA became one of our nonprofit partners.
Love Your Neighbor NOLA's main mission is to disrupt the cycle of community violence and trauma by being catalysts for family-centered change.
They do a great job of this by providing basic necessities, education, and resources to the New Orleans communities. They include our donation socks in their community closets and this years back-to-school program.
We were excited to join them in their annual back-to-school bash, an event designed to support local families and ensure children had the resources they needed to start the school year strong.
Over 150 kids received school uniforms, school supplies, backpacks, and Bonfolk donation socks!
"Just what I needed, new socks!"
One of the parents came over to our table and shared an important insight: "You don't realize how essential socks are until you need to buy them."
During the event, we witnessed smiles and signs of relief from parents as we handed out pairs of socks to each child.
